after the flood

April 24, 2013

Tortellinis bubble

as I look out the window. A blackbird

lands, feathers shining.

Quiet

has returned.  The blast

of nine blowers silenced, our walls

deemed dry.

Spirits lift

with jubilant skies, and the grass

greens lush in the yard.
