Mother’s Day

May 14, 2013

A bouquet

sits square

on the old oak table,

blooming with star

lilies and

roses,

sweetening the day.

Leaping easily, he

lands beside the crystal

vase, lured

by the mystery of

something new.  He

moves from flower

to flower,

his face buried in petals.

Entering

the kitchen, I catch

him there. He jumps,

facing me – nose

powdered in gold,

blossoms on his breath.

  1. He was just doing security detail, making sure your gift passed the safety inspection! 🙂
