clarity

There are times when the answer just
won’t come, when things don’t quite fit,
and forcing just won’t work, like those

frustrating puzzles you get for Christmas
that have 1,000 pieces, and way too many
of the exact…same…pattern.

So I decide to find all the flat-edged ones
and work my way in from the border
and three quarters of the way through,

that’s when I see you, the missing piece –
and my heart leaps to realize
you were here all along.

Ah, that is so lovely. I can totally relate to doing big jigsaw puzzles and starting with the borders first. Beautiful poem. 🙂

  4. Another lovely piece, Pam. I appreciate the simplicity and restraint in your work that exudes integrity and elegance. Thank you.
